Oregon Leadership Class Teacher Institute

Twenty four leadership class teachers gathered on the Western Oregon University campus for the first Leadership Class Teacher Institute, sponsored by OASC.  Over the course of four days, participants learned about various aspects of teaching leadership, including suggested curriculum areas, building a syllabus, structure of the class, experiential lessons, processing, evaluation, assessment, grading and resources. They shared lesson plans, created new lessons in small groups, and critiqued each other as they presented their original lessons. The lessons created at this workshop are:

Texas Leadership Class Teacher Academy

Twelve leadership class teachers gathered in Austin, TX for the third Student Leadership Course Teacher Academy, sponsored by TASSP and TASC.  Over the course of two days, participants learned about various aspects of teaching leadership as they prepared to teach the state-approved Student Leadership course. Topics covered included suggested curriculum areas, structure of the class, experiential lessons, processing,  evaluation, assessment, grading, and resources. They shared lesson plans, created new lessons in small groups, and critiqued each other as they presented 10-minute lessons. The original lessons created at this workshop are:

Michigan Leadership Class Academy

Thirteen educators gathered in Lansing, Michigan, in late August for the first Michigan Leadership Class Academy. Many were new to their position as leadership class teacher or were looking for information to start a leadership class. Over the course of two days, they learned about various aspects of teaching leadership, including suggested curriculum areas, structure of the class, experiential lessons, processing,  evaluation, assessment, and grading.
